  1. Thanks Rudy, I will see how it goes in about 2 weeks.πŸ™‚
  2. Hi Rudy, I ordered a SATV pin locker this week and should receive it in about 10 days, it is very similar to your halo locker except that it may be a slightly easier install. On the SATV site they remove the hub before pulling the axles on both sides and than the upper A arm on the passengers side. Your picture seems to show that you were able to leave the axles in the hubs and drop your lower A arms while suspending the upper A arm complete with shock. This would save a fair amount of disassembly and reassembly if I read your picture correctly. I have a Defender XT cab so the front end should be very similar if not identical? My machine has a full bottom sectional skid plate so its difficult to see where the grommet is that would allow the electrical wire to be run up into the cab and connected to the switch? I will add the install to my build thread once this is install is complete. Thanks in advance for any input you can provide.
  3. Hi Sulli, I agree that you can install the winch without the Canam wiring harness but since you purchased one it should be easier, quicker and more money. There should be a set of instructions with the kit or online which may help with routing the wires. Good luck with the install.πŸ™‚
  4. You might ask them to have a chat with their squirrels and ask them not to chew the wiring when they take up residents in the quads sitting outside but they likely won't take the hint.😏
  5. You are making progress and thats good unfortunatley this could have been prevented if the folks in Winnipeg had done a proper PDI. I hope your up and running soon because you don't get compensated for loss of use.πŸ™‚
  6. I'm running 30x10x14 in the front and 30x11x14 rear on stock XT rims and have no concern about the front bearing load, as long as your tire diameter is the same there should be no problems with drivetrain, if you ran a mix of diameters you would notice immediately when you went into 4 wheel drive.πŸ™‚
  7. Hi Sulli: Where do you want to add the winch front or back? Some of the units come with wiring in place behind the dash for the winch control switch for the front winch? Perhaps one of the members who has one of these units can respond and help you out, did you ask your dealer; their tech. should know because they have probably installed winches for other customers.πŸ™‚
  8. Hi Chad, like I said on your other post check the wiring thoroughly because squirrels tend to chew the plastic off wires for entertainment and you may have some bare wires as well. Open up your air filter and check it, its probably full of pine cones. Your dealer should have serviced this before shipping but instead just loaded it and shipped it. Did your Defender come in a container or was it fully assembled? If assembled this should have been obvious. πŸ€”
  9. Hi Chad, welcome to the forum, I am from Alberta and have worked on King Christian Island, Meighan and a couple of others. we used to fly through Yellowknife, Resolute etc. I haven't been over to the eastern Arctic that is north of Quebec etc. Beautiful country during the short summer but tough for the rest of the year. It sounds to me like your dealer should have taken the time to service the machine(s) to make sure they were running properly before shipping them up to you especially one that has been stored a couple of years. If you found pine cones etc under the hood you probably had squirrels and or mice under there so they may have chewed some of the insulation on the wiring which would result in the sensors not working properly. Good luck with the repairs and I hope that you don't have ethanol in your gasoline as it tends to absorb water if standing for a long time in your gas tank or even in a storage tank. If you do I would suggest that you bring in some fuel stabilizer that should help you with water in the fuel.πŸ™‚
  10. The charging system test, is to shut off as much electrical as possible, start the engine and bring RPM up to 4000 RPM you should be reading 14.4v +/- 0.4 vdc, if you are above 14.8v replace the voltage regulator/rectifier if you are below than check the stator output. If you are checking the voltage with the AC and other accessories on than you are likely reading a loaded charging rate which could be in the 13.8 v range. The longer range view will be does the battery get charged enough to be able to start the engine when the temperatures get colder(in your case that won't be a problem because it doesn't get cold enough to reduce the CCA). There is a charging system load test which would show a maximum charge rate of 50 Amps +/- 5 Amps on the 650 watt stator. You could check your battery after a ride (and after it has sat for several hours) to see if it is in the fully charged area of 12.6 to 12.8v or slightly higher. If yes life is good. Since you are equipped with the 850 watt stator I would expect the maximum charge rate to be about 65 Amps +/-. The maximum voltage won't change because the regulator has to protect the battery and other components from over voltage. At least you are up and running and good to hear the AC works as it should, thanks for the update.πŸ™‚
  11. Try this link https://can-am.brp.com/off-road/ca/en/shop/for-sale/parts-iframe.html, than go under year, sxs, defender North America, 05 gear box and components item number 20 speed sensor, part number 420265261. Make sure you confirm this number for yourself or with your dealer before you order. The diagram shows it is located near the back on top of the gear box so it should be easy to find if you follow the wire harness? If you are in the US go to the US parts link but the part number should be the same?πŸ™‚
  12. After several emails back and forth with Dalton, they did not recommend this clutch kit because it was not tested on a Defender, so now I have the new helix from the 2020 Defender and a high elevation spring in hand but so far haven't gotten around to the install.πŸ™‚
  13. Welcome to the forum, what Island are you on in the great white north?πŸ™‚ Good luck with the troubleshooting.
  14. The plug for the Buds interface should be under the hood on the right top side it has a plastic cap over it?πŸ™‚
  15. My guess is that your ITC (gas pedal sensor) has failed or become disconnected from the system, check to make sure it is still plugged in? If it is than it will require a trip back to the dealer.πŸ€”
  16. Hi Mike, do you happen to have a part number for the rear cab insulation kit?πŸ€”
  17. Checked with the dealer its an interior roof insulation package not a rear wall insulation package?🀨
  18. 705800581 is a noise insulation kit for the 2020 Defender Ltd, has anyone checked out to see what is in it?πŸ€”
  19. I would suspect that your fuel pump is not up to spec. Put a guage on the line and see if you have 50 psi. if not you will likely need a new fuel pump which is located in the fuel tank.πŸ™‚
  20. Have you considered the 2020 XT Cab, it has most of what you want and should have most of the sound deadening improvements? You should have the same power, check on the larger stator and reduced noise. As far as the rocker switch which I have on the 2019, I played with it once and have since left it on normal, something I suspect most people do. AC is something that most of use don't need but the folks down south do so depends on where you are located? I haven't checked to see if you can get the XT cab only or is it now the XT Cab limited?πŸ™‚
  21. There was a question a few years ago, whether the Defender should be loaded forwards or backwards to reduce the chance of damage when being towed. I have loaded my Defender XT Cab both forwards and backwards and didn't see any difference so I now load it facing forward and use my home made windshield protector when I remember where I put it last? I sold my toy hauler about 5 years ago so the open trailer is the only option. I haul my sleds on a deck on the truck but didn't like the look of a Defender sitting on the back of a crewcab.πŸ˜‰
  22. The center hole in the skid plate just forward of the rear arms should have a drain plug and you will need 1.5 qts. of 75w-140, dipstick is on the fill plug. The rear diff is part of the gearbox.πŸ˜‰
  23. My next door neighbor has a P Max with factory front windshield that blew out on a trailer at highway speeds so it can and does happen. It could be because of the added turbulence coming off the tow vehicle?πŸ™‚
  24. I don't know what model of Defender you have but under the front hood fuse box 1 is located and F10 is a 40 Amp fuse that provides power to the accessory output, the other fuse F2 is also 40 Amp and it provides power to the DPS. They are covered by a black cover which you must remove to see the fuses?πŸ˜‰
  25. Look for a 40 Amp fuse under the hood on the front. If that one is good check out some of the others. ☺️
